“homage to my hips”

lucille-clifton

Lucille Clifton reads ‘homage to my hips’ in this video. I found it to be an eye opener because it gave me a different perspective on how to read the poem itself. When she says the words “big hips” she emphasizes “big”, or when she lowers the tone “petty hips” to make it sound like those big hips are better than those petite ones. Take a look!
